Dryer repairs across Sydney

Vented, condenser and heat-pump dryers. Most faults — not heating, drum not turning, taking too long, burning smell — are repairable.

Common faults we fix

Six things that bring most dryers in.

If your symptoms aren't on this list, call us anyway — these are the common ones, not the only ones.

  1. 01

    Not heating

Cold air, clothes still wet. Usually a heating element, thermal fuse or thermostat — most are replaceable.

  2. 02

    Drum won't turn

Motor runs but the drum doesn't spin, or the dryer is silent. Typically a belt, motor capacitor or door switch.

  3. 03

    Taking too long to dry

Clothes coming out damp after a full cycle. Often a blocked lint filter, blocked ducting, or a failing heating element.

  4. 04

    Burning smell

A burning smell usually means lint has built up inside the cabinet or ducting — this is a fire risk. Stop using the dryer and call us.

  5. 05

    Noisy operation

Grinding, squealing or rumbling sounds. Worn rollers, bearings, or a stretched belt are the usual culprits.

  6. 06

    Won't start

Nothing happens when you press start. Could be the door switch, thermal fuse, or control board.

Vented, condenser or heat-pump?

Different dryers, different failure modes.

Telling us what kind of dryer you have lets us narrow the diagnosis on the phone and bring the right parts on the first visit.

Vented

Hot moist air is pushed outside.

The most common and the cheapest to fix. Simple mechanically — heating element, drum, motor, exhaust ducting. Slow drying is almost always blocked ducting or a tired element.

Common faults

  • Heating elements and thermal fuses
  • Drum belts and rollers
  • Vent ducting (lint, kinks, route length)

Condenser

Moisture is collected internally.

No external ducting needed — water goes to a reservoir or drain. Slightly more complex, with a condenser unit that needs cleaning regularly to maintain performance.

Common faults

  • Blocked condenser unit (reduced drying)
  • Drain pump or condensate reservoir issues
  • Heating elements and sensors

Heat-pump

Lower energy, lower temperature.

The most efficient and the most modern — uses a refrigerant cycle instead of a resistive element. Drying is slower but kinder on fabric. Repair is more specialised and parts cost more.

Common faults

  • Heat-pump compressor and refrigerant issues
  • Lint sensor and condenser blockages
  • Drain pump and water pathway faults

Burning smell? Stop using it.

Lint is flammable, and dryers run hot.

Lint that escapes the filter builds up inside the cabinet, around the heating element, and through the ducting. It's one of the most common causes of dryer fires. If you can smell burning, don't run another cycle — give us a call and we'll inspect before you use the dryer again.

Warning signs

  • Burning smell during or after a cycle
  • Dryer or laundry getting unusually hot
  • Clothes coming out hotter than usual
  • Cycles taking longer and longer over time
  • Visible lint around the back of the unit

Before you call

A minute of detail saves a return trip.

A bit of information up front means we can give you a more accurate diagnosis and price range over the phone.

  • Have the make and model handy — usually on a sticker inside the door or behind the lint filter.

  • Note the symptom — not heating, not turning, taking too long, smell, noise.

  • Tell us whether it's vented, condenser or heat-pump if you know.

  • If there's a burning smell, stop using it and call before running it again.
